URGH, DID SOMEONE SAY MOBILITY WORK?
I get it, most of the time we just want to get in and get stuck into our workout, and mobility work can be the thing we want to skip. But for me, I don’t know if it’s an age thing, or the fact that I avoided doing any proper mobility work for years, but it’s become the most important part of my workout.
I would recommend spending 10-15 minutes doing mobility work before you train, to ensure you get the most out of it; my workout certainly suffers if I don’t; exercises don’t feel as good and I don’t hit the range I can or want to, so it’s not something I neglect. It’s something you think you can get away with, until suddenly you can’t. We want to keep functioning at our best; none of us want to get injured after all.
Below you will find a short video of a general dynamic full-body warm up routine. I recommend that you complete 10-15 repetitions of each drill, and repeat the circuit 3 times.
